Her Story – Buy The Book

And Then There Was One

It’s been several years since my angel went to heaven. I miss her every day. Adjusting to life without Christina was and still remains to be quite an adjustment to say the least. As I’m once again visiting her grave site to put out a seasonal arrangement to fill the empty granite vase, the unexpected happens. I don’t think John 3:16 has ever been so alive to me as it was this day, kneeling in front of the headstone, gazing at the flowers I had just placed . . .

“For God so loved the world (me!) that He gave His only begotten Son.” It goes on, “That whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”

The simplicity of this scripture, yet profoundness of each word permeated my heart and mind. I began to weep. The words “He gave His Only Son” resonated within me. I don’t know if it’s being a mom, having lost a child, or both, but the thought of giving and therefore losing my child for someone else is incomprehensible. He paid that price. God used that particular moment on that day to show me how great His love is. He revealed to me how personal His love is for me, for each one of us. He puts the hope in my loss and in my tomorrow.

Thank You, Jesus, that life, for those who have accepted Him as Lord and Savior, doesn’t stop at the grave. Christina asked Jesus into her heart at an early age. She is in heaven, and I do know and have that reassurance that I will see her again one day. We can all have that guarantee that we will be with Him one day in heaven. Do you know Him? What may be holding you back?

Remember that when we lose those we love, when times get hard, God is there. He looks down at you, his beloved child and says, “I see you there.”
